Adoption saves lives

If you're interested in learning more about any of these dogs, or know that you are ready to adopt, please complete the Adoption Application. An application must be on file to be considered for adoption.

Puppies have special needs and will only be placed in a home where they can be monitored often (they should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time). Please consider your time and space limitations before applying to adopt a puppy.

Unless otherwise noted: All our dogs have been fully vetted and spayed/neutered; all have tested heart worm–negative; all are currently awaiting rescue in Alabama, Georgia, or Tennessee, and, upon adoption approval, FLD/Vermont Dog Rescue will transport them to Vermont.

Additional information about bringing home a rescue can be found in our Guidelines for Adopters of Rescue Dogs.

Unless otherwise noted:

All our dogs are currently awaiting rescue in Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, or Tennessee. Upon adoption approval, they will be transported to Vermont.

Shyia

Lab/Shepherd mix
2 yrs, 45-50 lbs, female
Sweet, lovable, quiet laid-back girl
Will make the perfect family pet to any lucky household

According to her rescuer: "She found herself abandoned and forced to give birth to her babies in the brush and briars in an empty field, with no one to look after her or her babies. She raised them on her own for 8-10 weeks and watched over them with the fierceness of a true mother and her young. Once we rescued her and her babies, she became the most loving and sweetest dog ever."

Shyia is currently being treated for heartworm and will be available to adopt in November.

If you'd like to contribute toward Shyia's treatment (it will cost $800), considering making a donation.
